How to Use Muse Image
Three ways to generate images with Muse Image today — through the Meta AI app, Instagram Stories, and WhatsApp. Every step covered.
Option 1 — Muse Image in the Meta AI App
The Meta AI app gives you the full Muse Image feature set: presets, Instagram account mentions, multi-photo blending, and follow-up editing.
Get the Meta AI app
Download Meta AI from the App Store or Google Play, or open meta.ai in a browser. Sign in with your Instagram, Facebook, or Meta account.
Start a new chat
Muse Image lives inside the assistant — there is no separate app. Just open a conversation with Meta AI.
Describe your image
Type what you want. Muse Image reasons through complex prompts, so full sentences with style, mood, and subject details work better than keyword lists.
Refine with follow-ups
Not perfect? Reply with edits: 'make it night time', 'keep the face but change the outfit to a suit'. Muse Image edits the existing image instead of starting over.
Download or share
Tap the image to download it or share it to Stories, chats, or anywhere outside Meta.
Option 2 & 3 — Instagram Stories and WhatsApp
Instagram Stories
Create a Story and browse the effects tray — Muse Image powers 30+ new AI effects that restyle your photos and videos in one tap.
One-tap AI effects, restyle looks, no prompting needed
Chat with Meta AI in WhatsApp (the blue circle icon) and ask for an image. Muse Image generates it inside the chat, in select countries at launch.
In-chat generation, share directly to any conversation
The Instagram Stories effects need no prompting at all — Muse Image applies the restyle in one tap. WhatsApp generation is prompt-based like the Meta AI app but rolling out to select countries first.
Getting Better Results from Muse Image
Muse Image reasons through your prompt before generating, so the biggest lever is prompt quality. Write full sentences, name the style explicitly, and use follow-up messages to edit instead of regenerating from scratch. Our Muse Image prompt ideas page has 25+ tested prompts organized by use case.
If a feature seems missing, check your region — Muse Image launched US-first on July 7, 2026, and WhatsApp generation is limited to select countries at the start.
